The Assomet report reveals an increase in global demand for aluminium in 2014. In Italy, a total use of 1,811,000 t of aluminium was reported, 3.8% more than the previous year. A strongly positive demand comes from the automotive sector. As for prices, the cost of LME aluminium increased during the first half of 2014, while the growth trend slowed in the second half of the year, following the drop in oil prices. Internationally, the demand for aluminium in 2014 increased by 7% to 55.2 million tonnes. This is mainly due to strong growth in North America and China. In fact, in Shanghai in China, the global aluminium community recently met at the exhibition “Aluminium China 2015”: the top Asian trading, sourcing, networking and branding platform for the aluminium supply chain. The event was attended by Viganò International. The company presented its products aimed at the aluminium processing market (cut-to-length lines and slitting lines) with great success.
