A giant bean….made entirely of stainless steel

A sculpture of a giant bean by Anish Kapoor, now stands within the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston.

The beautiful sculpture called “Cloud Column”, was conceived by Kapoor in the late 1990s and realized in 2006. It’s made entirely of hand-worked stainless steel and has been installed in the middle of the square at the Museum of Fine Arts. The installation of the sculpture took almost five hours of work, the crews used a 650-ton crane to hoist the 21,000-pound oblong sculpture.

After the sculpture has been installed and cleaned, its stainless steel surface has shown its original shine.
