Wind energy in Turkey: wind turbines for a wind farm

GE Renewable Energy, in collaboration with Borusan EnBW Enerji, will build a 138 MW wind farm in Turkey. The wind power project will include 27 Cypress wind turbines, enough to power the equivalent of 190,000 homes in the country. Borusan will operate the Cypress turbines at 5.X MW, with a rotor diameter of 158m.

This marks the first order in Turkey for this type of platform and one of GE’s largest wind farms in Turkey. GE’s scope of work will include 10 years services agreements.

This type of platform revolutionary two-pieces blade will be produced by GE’s wind turbine blade manufacturer, located in Turkey. And the company recently decided to invest another $30 million by the end of 2019 to expand its facility and recruit 300 new employees.

This new project will improve efficiency in serviceability, in logistics and siting potential, and ultimately more value for customers.
